Lions and Tigers and Bears. OH MY!!!

Hooray for my boring summer!

Of all the time I spend awake...

Yes, 95% of my summer has been books, TV, and statistics. And I am going to be exceptionally original by talking about each one. Hey, at least I made a pie chart... right? Oh wait, that makes it even more nerdy. Dang Girl. Get a life!

First, Stats because that isn't as exciting. I am a TA for Psych 301- Psychological Statistics. It sure sounds super fancy, doesn't it? I was really excited to be a TA. I have wanted to be a TA since junior high, but this is the first time it has actually happened. Hopefully I will have more opportunities in the future. :)

I enjoy helping students to understand. I wish I were better at explaining things, but I guess that will only come with practice. I also enjoy putting scores into the computer, which is a really dumb thing to like... data entry? sounds super boring, but its fun. Another of my tasks is to grade homework. I am not so sure if I like that or not yet.

(Slightly related: I did a review and I used an example that I made up about Katy Perry. I was freaking amused with my own hilarity.)

Second, TV because that has probably taken up the most time out of the three. I work at BYU Broadcasting in Master Control, and my job is to monitor the outgoing feeds and the return feeds to ensure high quality. I also prepare shows for airing, and make sure they air on time. It's a pretty sick job. Anyway, working there 30+ hours per week has meant that I spend a lot of time watching TV. I have developed some opinions about the shows we air. Some are definitely better than others.

And since I have nothing better to do right now, I will briefly share my opinion of a few.

I Love Lucy: Hilarious. Always a winner. Makes time fly by. And I secretly love Lucy's clothes. (Okay. not a secret. Maybe I comment aloud about that every time I watch it... whether or not people are with me.)

Little House on the Prairie: There are exactly a million episodes, and there is a plot that continues (obviously). But for the most part, episodes can be watched individually and still be entertaining.

Wordgirl: Possibly and probably THE BEST SHOW we air. I love it. It's a "kids show" but it is hilarious. The writers deserve mega bucks. It is hilarious, educational, mostly nonviolent, and her sidekick is a monkey. watch it! watch it! watch it!

Super Why: umm. quite awful. The show itself probably has some educational value... but the plot is the same every episode, the theme song is annoying, and it is on way too often. Not the worst show we air though. (Don't get me started!)

Dinosaur Train: catchy theme song. about dinosaurs. thats about all its got going for it. The plot is boring, and the writing isn't clever.

Third, Books because I like to save the best for last. Reading books is a wonderful hobby. I feel an increase in my smarticles each time I read a book, and this summer I have read lots of books. One of my favorite things to do is meander through the many shelves of books in the library. I love choosing random books off of the shelf and briefly reading the jacket cover to see if I want to read them. Sometimes this process works out better than other times... Which is why I usually try to read books that have been recommended to me as well. I have quite the list that is always changing and evolving.

Hi, my name is Stephanie and I'm a book addict. It's been 24 hours since my last book. Phew. Glad I got that off my chest.

Anyway, I think book addict may be a bit dramatic. However, one of my friends at work does call me a book eater....

Yes, that phrase does remind me of Cookie Monster. nbd. I watch Sesame Street. It's cool.

I was originally planning to briefly state my opinions about some books too, but this blog post has taken enough time already! [I need to get back to reading SIDENOTE WITHIN SIDENOTE: I haven't been writing this blog post for the 24 hours since my last book... its taken longer than that ;)] Maybe I will do another blog post with book reviews. Or not. It's my life and my blog. Who knows what I will do? But seriously, if you know what I will do or you at least want to give me some tough love or advice just lmk. Looking at this blog post, especially this paragraph you can tell that I need it.

Anyway, my boring summer will soon be coming to an end... to be replaced with a hectic fall. Thank goodness for change-I certainly could use some soon.

P.S. Longest Blog Post I Have Ever Written
