Good news though! In all that time I have been rather productive. President Monson changed the age requirement for missionary service, and I jumped on that opportunity!
On January 31, 2013 I got my mission call. I will be serving in the California San Jose Mission Spanish Speaking. I will enter the MTC on May 15th.
I am extremely excited for this opportunity. Also, very grateful. But also, sometimes it terrifies me. Overall though, I know this is a good thing I am doing, and that the Lord will help me as I try to teach the gospel to others.

Funny story (not really that funny). I was expecting my call to come on Wednesday, and I told people they could come watch me open my mission call. Then it didn't come. I was quite disappointed and impatient, so the next day when it actually came, I opened it as soon as I could. I waited for my brother to get home from lacrosse practice. The second he came in the door I ripped it open and read it. I didn't even do the tricky thing people do where they hold a paper over it so they can't see what is coming. I ripped it open, then read it as fast as I could.
Man, what a crazy day that was! I thought I would be called out of the country, but surprise, California! It is going to be so wonderful! I am excited. That was such a crazy, emotional day. It was so weird to think that after waiting for so long, I had my call, and I will be going to California :).
